Evolved Packet Core Software Engineer-Pune-MCBU-PP-08 Full Time

MCBU will provide opportunity to work on next gen EPC nodes which supports CUPS (Control and User Plane Separation) and containerization/ virtualization.

Being a hands-on technical leader along with the coding, you will be driving the end to end product design and implementation in your scrum team/ cohort, which comprises of best of the talented engineers in the industry.

Active participation in design discussions and code review discussions across the scrum teams within your group.

The MCBU mobile packet core solution is comprised of a series of products that together form one of the most powerful offerings in the industry. These solutions address most mobile packet core requirements across all generations of network functionality— 4G, and 5G. The Cisco solution is open, standards based, and can be deployed flexibly in a virtual or conventional configuration.

MCBU offers a comprehensive, flexible, and fully scalable solution that is integrated with subscriber management capabilities. This end-to-end mobile packet core infrastructure delivers industry-leading network intelligence that helps Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) personalize the mobile experience for their customers, monetize the packet core with new revenue-generating services, and optimize the mobile infrastructure to reduce costs.

We are currently working on CUPS (control plane and user plane separation), containerization and virtualization of 5G EPC nodes.

CUPS stands for Control and User Plane Separation of EPC nodes and provides the architecture enhancements for the separation of functionality in the Evolved Packet Core’s SGW, PGW and TDF. This enables flexible network deployment and operation, by distributed or centralized deployment and the independent scaling between control plane and user plane functions – while not affecting the functionality of the existing nodes subject to this split.

Who You Are

– Self-motivated, self-driven, excellent team player and should be flexible to work on any assigned tasks and adjust to changing business priorities and plans.

– You will typically have around 6 to 9 years of Industry experience preferably in Mobile packet core Domain.

– Independently come up with ideas and work with Agile team to evolve the solutions to enhance the product & solution offering. Drive products with innovative ideas towards new technologies that enhance product definition towards the next generation architecture.

Skills:

– Ability to proficiently design and code in C and best of troubleshooting skills.

– Excellent Knowledge in EPC nodes of LTE.

– Design, develop and review the artifacts (documents, code)

– Good knowledge of scripting language like python.

– Not mandatory, but desired skills: Virtualization, containerization, Cloud technologies.

– Review System test plans with specific solution in mind.

This position is preferably for Pune and alternative location is Bangalore.
