Unix / Linux Administrator, Hyderabad Full Time
Job Description:
•Person is responsible for Designing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and analysing problems associated with UNIX hardware and software, networking and associated peripherals.
•The Unix Systems Administrator will provide proactive management of the Unix based infrastructure to provide the required reliability, stability and performance for the Unix applications.
•Configuration/capacity planning, software products evaluation, and systems performance analysis and optimization
•Person should be able to do the scripting, perform backups.
•Upgrades, script maintenance and patching for Unix / Linux environment
•Responding to and planning for service outages
•System / Servers performance tuning
•Maintain UNIX Support documentation (procedures, rules, standards)
•Provide, as necessary, support for the Development, Test, and Production Environments
•Perform troubleshooting of system issues, interacting with other infrastructure and development teams
•Participate in rotational duty to provide on-call support; including off-hours administration and problem escalation
•Must be a self-starter, willing to learn, and demonstrate independent initiative in a fast-paced operational environment
Bachelor/ Master’s Degree in Computer Science
Desirable skills are as below:
•3 years of experience monitoring and maintaining Unix Servers administration – including operating system and package installation and maintenance (Linux, AIX, or RedHat preferred)
•3 years of resolving technical issues in a Unix environment
•Experience in shell scripting and C programming (including maintenance of existing scripts, software, and documentation),
•Strong configuration management with Chef, Puppet, Ansible or other similar tools
•Knowledge of networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, NFS, SMTP)
•Knowledge of Ethernet and Fibre Channel networking and troubleshooting
•Storage knowledge
•Experience with the Linux OS, kernel, patching, and software management.
•Should have Cloud knowledge (IaaS)
