Job Description
We are the Knowledge Platform and Services team in the Universal Store organization in OSG responsible for providing the data platform, the knowledge graph, data/ML models, insights and services for Customer Relationship/Intelligence, Customer Lifecycle Management, and Anti-Fraud systems.
The Knowledge Platform team is uniquely positioned at Microsoft to have a view across service businesses of Microsoft, and have a common view of the customer across Microsoft services, including a deep understanding of their wants, needs and preferences. With this ability to leverage customer insights we are staffing up a new team that will contribute to improving the engagement and monetization of Microsoft services.
We are looking for talented and experienced engineers with proven strengths in technical innovation, technical design and architecture, data sciences, cross-group collaboration, shipping complex products/services, and engineering excellence. This team will focus both on large scale engineering challenges (data platforms/services) and algorithmic challenges (machine learning, data mining, predictive analytics, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Development of tools to help run the service smoothly using C#, Powershell and other programming and scripting languages.
- Management of infrastructure. Adjust capacity utilization to be optimal through peaks and valleys.
- Build/recommend consistent and standards for platforms used: Network, load balancing, fail over set up optimized for high availability and low latency

Management of Live sites, identification of top errors, reliability issues and driving root cause to avoid repeat of incidents.
- Access Management, Certificate/Password management, stay current (OS, SQL), JIT compliance, Security Patching, Compliance per standards (ISO, OSA)
- Identification of monitoring gaps and instrumentation of monitoring through code/external tools.
Qualifications

Proven multi-year track record of shipping online services in a fast-paced environment.

6+ years of technical experience developing distributed systems, data platforms, scalable web services/applications, service oriented solutions.

Demonstrated ability and experience in the entire services development cycle: design, implementation, deployment, and live site.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
