DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF EYE BANK-TECHNICIANS
1. Monitor every eye call
2. To do Donor Eye Processing, which includes Grading, Button Cutting, Serology, Specular Count, Filling forms and Distribution.
3. Attending to Lectures and Pledge counter
4. All registers to be updated including Cornea Grafting Register, Donor Eye Register, Pledge Book and Pledge Forms etc.
5. Corneal button from the recipient to be sent for Histopathology requirement
6. Maintenance of individual files of Eye Donors, attaching utility reports, corresponding to each eye and maintenance of files as required by International Federation of Eye Banks and Eye Bank Association of India.
7. Maintain Register for the requirement of Corneas by other Surgeons and hospitals.
8. Sending of Corneas to Surgeons and hospitals based on their requisition & Emergency status.
9. AMT Preparation
10. Check into the packing of the eyes received form ECC
11. Arrange for culture plates & swabbing to be done
12. Eye Call kits to be kept ready & clean
13. Enucleating instruments to be washed packed & to be sent for autoclaving
14. Any other duties of Eye Bank as informed by Medical Director Eye Bank
