Job Requirements:
As a Hardware Engineer II, you will be part of a team developing state of the art analog & digital integrated circuits. We are looking for an Engineer with theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
Working in an R&D design and laboratory environment, responsibilities include planning and test of electronic circuitry, analysis of results, debug of circuits under test, as well as supporting the associated hardware and software testing platforms. Evaluation scope covers: functionality, performance and reliability standpoints. Duties may include development or contribution for the development of the evaluation platforms. Responsibilities may encompass platform specification, hardware design, firmware and software development.
You will work with a cross functional design team of analog & digital designers and hardware engineers from a wide variety of backgrounds. Our R&D test lab contains state of the art, advanced test equipment required for high accuracy and high speed test and debug.
Our design environment is best in class. Facilitates a full suite of both IC design and FPGA development tools plus custom in-house tools that are supported by an experienced software/CAD team. Experience with IC design and FPGA development tools, is desired. Verilog/RTL development knowledge as well as experience with programming / scripting languages such as TCL, Perl, C, python, MATLAB, or other, is required. Experience or knowledge on protocols such as PCIe, SATA and USB, is an asset.
As part of the thorough validation within Synopsys product development:
- System testing requirements includes the implementation and efficient execution of rigorous verification test-benches to perform system level validation of products under development, i.e., to guarantee circuit performance and inter-operability.
- The function demands strong debugging skills, mastering problem solving methodologies and IC design knowledge, for explaining circuits’ behavior and limitations.
- Co-existent with operational responsibilities, the job includes a project component for sustaining the continuous improvement cycle towards excellence on: (i) Test specifications, (ii) Test execution, (iii) Data collection, consolidation and mining, (iv) Knowledge management.
Typically, a minimum of 2 years of related experience is required. You are expected to develop professional expertise and apply company policies and procedures to attain the job roles. Working knowledge on work area and general proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures, is required. In the course of the job, you will exercise judgment to determine appropriate actions. On the job, you will receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments. Implementations and solutions are reviewed for accuracy and overall adequacy. You are expected to build productive internal/external working relationships. Professional contacts will be done primarily within business unit, occasionally at both organizational level and with external Customers. Travelling abroad availability is required.
